I took two classic, time-honored patterns--the Hare's Ear Nymph and the Pheasant Tail Nymph--and combined them into one high-contrast, super-buggy euro-nymph that flat out catches fish. Many mayfly nymphs have two-toned abdomens and this pattern is designed to mimic this. This fly is especially effective when Hendrickson nymphs are in the drift, but it can be used as a general purpose attractor nymph as well. Tied on a jig hook.
